MAREMMA ASSOCIATION NORTHERN

‘Beauty in response and in action, intelligence, dignity, natural guarding instincts are all very positive qualities, but there is something more to our big white fellows than is usual to the species: a vein of the wild and a natural habit of treating man as equal and a friend, not as God and master

The Meremma Sheepdog book

If you want obedience and submission, keep away from our breed, but if you appreciate friendship given and received, a trace of humour, and much teaching of the Love of the Wild, a typical Maremmo is the best you can have.’

I joined the Maremma Club of GB in 1980 as along with my husband we were interested in having a Maremma Sheepdog. Our puppy came home to Edinburgh from Anne & Gordon Latimer 1981. Our first litter was born December 1985 and we have bred over a hundred puppies since then. I had the privilege to award Challenge Certificates for the first time in 1994. Founder member of the Northern Maremma Association. Currently judge, steward and exhibit.
